Pastoral

We offer a range of different pastoral interventions to support the well being and social, emotional and mental health needs of the children in our school. Every afternoon, we have a range of different groups that take place, as well as a dedicated pastoral team which support individuals and groups of children on a daily basis. 

These groups include:

• Cooking and craft group
• Sensory garden group
• Woodland outdoor learning group
• Messy play
• Social skills group
• Emotional School-Based Avoidance mentoring (EBSA)
• Brain break group

• No Worries mentoring group
• Nurture (Tier 2) pastoral group sessions
• 1:1 Mentoring
• NurtureUK (Tier 3) pastoral group sessions

• ELSA group sessions
• ELSA 1:1 Sessions
• Bereavement support

The sole purpose of all these intervention groups is to develop children's emotional maturity and literacy, provide support for children to discuss their worries, thoughts and feelings, develop children's social skills, develop fundamental life skills and provide support away from the classroom environment.

The school's lunchtime club provides a safe space where children can eat their lunch in a calm, quiet environment away from the lunch hall. The lunchtime club also remains open for those that find the playground environment overwhelming.

Whole-school approaches have also been adopted to support all children, such as whole-class brain breaks and calm classroom environments.
